parody

Is it still possible, in today's world, to say something that doesn't sound like a parody of itself?
In the small hall at Von Krahl Theatre meet Mart, 52, and Priit, 32. Two bodies that carry meanings they have chosen for themselves, as well as those that others attribute to them. Their dialogue is not just their dialogue. It brings into collision conformists and radicals, cholerics and phlegmatics, attackers and goalkeepers, pioneers and millennials, bald and bearded men, young people who don’t drink or party and middle-aged who are perpetually hungover. Each is convinced that their worldview is valid and they are ready to passionately defend it. What happens when these worlds collide?
The collaborative production by Mart Kangro and Priit Põldma is an exploration of identity and the points of contact and conflict between generations. They put forward their views while trying to understand whether these are truly their own personal positions or are they also shaped by other factors – generational attitudes, context, and the prevailing climate. Is it possible in today’s world to say something that doesn’t sound like a parody of oneself?
Kangro and Põldma’s previous collaboration was named “Comedy”, “Parody” promises to be darker and more serious than “Comedy”. No joke.
